QCAA Basketball, Prime Time Sports partner for N.C. Invitational Feb. 21-23
The Queen City Athletic Association and Prime Time Sports will partner to present the second N.C. Invitational. The large boys AAU youth basketball tournament for teams in grades 3-9 will be held in the Charlotte-area Feb. 21-23.
QCAA and PTS have a two-year agreement.
This year, games will be held at Carolina Courts in Concord and the brand new Carolina Courts in Indian Trail, two of North Carolina's premiere venues for youth basketball.
Grade level champions in the tournament will win free custom uniforms from Prime Time Sports, which has become one of the region's top providers of youth apparel. There will also be a general drawing for all teams to have a shot at winning an additional set of free uniforms (SCROLL DOWN TO SEE UNIFORM SAMPLES)
QCAA President Edward Addie said partnering with Ray Kowalski of Prime Time Sports made perfect sense. Last year, Kowalski and Addie both had February events that attracted well over 100 teams.
"Ray has been putting on first-class events for years," Addie said. "Last year, QCAA teams began wearing PTS products and receiving incredible compliments everywhere we went. We think coming together with Ray will help us put on a huge early-season event that offers teams a lot of strong competition in a fun environment. And the winners get some really cool free gear that will make them the envy of every tournament they enter after this. How can you beat that?"
Kowalski believes this combined event can become a N.C. AAU staple.
"We've been talking about doing something with Addie and QCAA for years," Kowalski said. "We're excited about the partnership and where this might go in the future. This could well become one of the largest events in the state pretty quickly."
The N.C. Invitiational, or NCIT, was formerly called the QCAA Invitational.
