QCAA would like to thank the parents, coaches and players for their participation in The
2007 Pre-Season NCIT. The tournament was jam-packed with exciting youth basketball.
There were some tremendous battles during the tournament, with the 10U & 12U
championship games leading the way.
In the 10U championship game the United Stars defeated the Garner Road Bulldogs by 1
point. 10U MVP D.J. Caldwell hit an unbelievable 3-pointer with 15 seconds left on the clock
to tie the game then hit the front end of a 1-and-1 with no time left on the clock to win it.
In the 12U Championship game the United Stars defeated the Garner Road Bulldogs by 1
point. The Stars went into the 4th quarter trailing by 7 points before 12U MVP Greg
McClinton put on a clinic with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the final period alone. He
finished the game with 23 and 20 for a dominating performance.
The surprise team of the tournament had to be the 11U QCAA Rock Hill Elite. In only their
second tournament, this first-year team defeated perennial powers the United Stars and the
NC Gaters to make it to the 11U championship game. The 11U Championship game was
won by a powerful Garner Road team out of Raleigh, NC. The 11U MVP was William Walker
who displayed very good ball handling skills and excellent decision-making throughout the
tournament.
